Who Am I?
Self-awareness is a never-ending process, which is between the infinite and us. Socrates has a saying “Know thyself, so you will know the universe.” This quotation defines the self-awareness process very well.
Of course, leaving philosophy behind, we define ourselves by our various identities. I would like to introduce who I am, by using this method now: I am a food engineer with an MBA, manager, humanist, idealist, quality focused, environmentalist, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) expert (C Class), food expert (for court), married -with no child- woman. I am very curious, sophisticated, focused on continuous improvement and like to have different experiences. I love being in nature, bird watching, meeting with different cultures, people and discovering sites. Philosophy, mythologies and self-improvement are among my other interests.
I was born in Gaziantep, Turkey in 1979 and have been living in Istanbul since I was 5. Soon after I graduate from the Food Engineering department of the Aegean University, I started working as a food auditor at Sardunya Catering. When I was transferred to ISS in 2008, I was working at Sardunya as the Quality Manager. It was a precious experience for me: As I was working at a fast growing company that was using techniques in accordance with Turkish culture, and being transferred to an International Company that is managed by processes, solid data and targets.
On my way, I got a post graduate (masters) degree in Business Administration with an Honor Degree, from the University of Yeditepe (2006 – 2008).
At ISS Catering Turkey, I was assigned as the Hygiene & Quality Director. I was also responsible for the training of the staff, and then I have also became the manager of the Human Resources department. Now I am working as the Assistant General Manager Responsible for Hygiene, Quality and Human Resources.
I was honored to be chosen as one of the participants of ISS Global Talent Management Program between 2009 – 2011.
Together with my Hygiene and Quality Team, we improve the current systems that are used in the company, audit the projects in accordance with the management systems, audit the suppliers in terms of food quality and safety, organize the customer satisfaction surveys and necessary feedback processes, provide the necessary trainings to the employees to reach their goals in hygiene and quality.
Together with my Human Resources Team, we manage and reorganize these processes: recruitment and orientation, performance management, talent management, training and development programs, motivation activities.
These were my responsibilities and achievements in Sardunya and ISS;
